Get to Know Us
RTC is pleased to announce our Board members for 2023. Each member has contributed their time and passion for the ongoing success of the Rockingham Theatre Company. Please feel free to ask them any questions if you see them.
Robert Walker
President
Rob has been part of the Rockingham theatre since 2001 and been on the Board for about 13 years.
He is a very accomplished actor and a great set-builder.
Sue Lawson
Vice President
Sue has been involved with professional and community theatre for over 20 years. She has committed herself to the RTC Stage Manager role since 2009 and has mentored many of our community group members to become efficient stage and prop managers themselves. Sue joined the RTC Board in 2019 and is responsible for all aspects of Show productions and also for Front of House.
Alison Gibson
Treasurer
Alison Gibson is our current Treasurer and a Life Member of the Theatre. Alison joined the Theatre when she emigrated from England in 1988 and her first major production in 1989 was "My Fair Lady" in which she played Mrs Pearce, the housekeeper of Professor Henry Higgins. This production won a number of "Finlay Awards" in 1989 including "Best set". Alison has had many roles in RTC productions over the years - both on and off stage.
Alison has directed some of the Theatre's most successful productions including two versions of "Allo Allo", "Dad's Army", "Ladies Night" and recently "Calendar Girls"
Michelle Smith
Secretary
Michelle is pleased to be able to serve the community on the RTC Board.
She has been associated with Rockingham Theatre since 2009 - both on and off the stage.
She is our newest Board Member who was accepted late 2022 and is taking on the responsibilities of administration.
Jackie Hiscox
Board Member
Jackie started at the Rockingham Theatre in 2003 as a prompt. From that point on, she was hooked and has since been involved in off-stage roles in many plays.
Jackie has been on the board since 2005 and became an RTC Life Member in December 2016.
Jackie is responsible for managing all aspects of the Bar and Ticket sales.
Helen Brown
Board Member
Helen joined RTC in 2009 and has since been a regular on-stage. More recently she began directing and has also tried her hand at stage managing.
She was accepted onto the Board in late 2021 and is in charge of the website, membership and sponsorship opportunities.
Callon Leam
Board Member
Callon has been an asset to the Rockingham theatre for several years and has given his time both on and off stage.
He brings youth and a differing perspective to the Board and it is great to have him here in charge of maintenance and photography
Michelle Lawson
Board Member
Michelle can create just about any prop needed for a show and many of our recent productions have benefitted greatly from this ability. She has been a great addition to our theatre family and it is wonderful to have her enthusiasm and 'can-do' attitude on the Board.
Michelle is in charge of the Kitchen area and Front of House for show nights.
